Her net play is quick, she’s looking for the volley, and she’s sending balls straight to the body of Carle.
Argentina aren’t as settled on the court. Etcheverry sends one ball into the net and another over the baseline to let the Australians off with an easy first game.

Game, set and match.
De Minaur claims a 6-1, 6-4 victory on Ken Rosewall Arena in an hour and 15 minutes.
He proves too strong for his Argentine opponent, and now we have a mixed doubles’ decider.
De Minaur is up 5-4 in the second and is serving for the match with new balls.
Etcheverry has found consistency as the set has gone on, but the damage was done early, and it looks like de Minaur has this is the bag unless the Argentine can pull out something special.
Four break points for Alex de Minaur, and he finally manages to capitalise.
Etcheverry saves three, but the Aussie eventually breaks the Argentine’s serve and goes 2-1 up in the second set.
Etcheverry is far too deep in the court, and de Minaur has his scrambling from side-to-side. He already looks exhausted out there, while de Minaur looks like he could play all night.

De Minaur claims the first set 6-1 in a stunning 28 minutes.
The Demon is in fine form, and he’s got Martin Etcheverry scrambling.
De Minaur’s stats say it all. He’s winning 86 per cent of points on his first serve, and his accuracy off the charts. He’s not afraid to come to the net, while the Argentine keeps getting stuck behind the baseline.

De Minaur gets the first break point of the evening and takes a 3-1 in the first set.
He draws the error from Etcheverry who puts too much on his backhand and sends the ball soaring over the baseline.
It’s a commanding start from the Australian who is still trying to get back to his best after injury plagued the middle part of the year.
